A week in Cornwall.

The first few days were spent with our friend.

We took a trip out to Tremenheere Sculpture garden and then had a walk on the beach. The sculpture gardens are well worth a visit and there is a great café on site.

After spending some time with our friend we headed off to Perranporth

We stayed at Seiners Arms, right on the beach and had a beach view room. Its a great place to stay, good rooms and good food at a reasonable price.

On a grey day we took the Coaster bus and rode the Atlantic highway !

From there we headed to Tintagel

We had an amazing room at Camelot castle

This place gets very mixed reviews, however we have stayed there on previous occasions in a  variety of rooms and have always enjoyed it. It is a bit like marmite though, love it or hate it. The trip advisor reviews are quite interesting...

We also took a drive to Bedruthan Steps, another of my favourite pieces of coast

All in all it was a good week.
The weather could have been sunnier but it is England so you get what you get !
It was VERY busy everywhere and I don't think I will ever contemplate a holiday in Cornwall again in school holiday periods, I have no idea why I thought it would be a good idea to go at the end of  July , given that I don't have children at school any more !

  1. Looks gorgeous there. Shame about the crowds but maybe you can plan another trip when it's quieter.

  3. The views along the Atlantic Highway are stunning, aren't they. Love Perranporth too with its huge beach, and The Watering Hole. I always go to the National Trust Cafe on the clifftop above Bedruthan Steps - a wonderful breakfast or bacon butty from there. Mmmmm. As a resident of Cornwall, I stay home during most of the summer season, especially this year with the extra-heavy influx of tourists, so I was good to see it through your photographs. Thank you x

  4. It could have been worse - yesterday, 12,000 people were expected on Perranporth beach! My idea of hell.

    1. it is hell, it surprises me they all sit on the beach in front of the watering hole, when you only have to walk a bit further and its much quieter.

  5. It looks amazing, but one of the reasons I've put off visiting in recent years is because it can get so busy. I hope you can go again when it is a bit quieter. X

The past few weeks have been a quiet time of reflection, my father in law died. Whilst expected, he was 90 and in a nursing home, it always ...
