WIP Wednesday.

Still in knitting mode,
cracking on with the winter woolies,
almost tempted to make another coco dress, but kept sewing machine zipped up, need woolies not dresses!

just cast of the rib for the cardigan, didn't follow the pattern, didn't want pockets and couldn't be bothered with fancy i-cord, so just a plain 1x1 ribbed cuff, its a lounge about cardi so I am not too bothered

really loving the colours, now all I do is to go find the yarn, for the stripe sleeves,  else I may have to buy some more, then its going to be a HUGE ribbed cuff up the front and round the neck, not looking forward to that and not sure I have a cable that long.

Just picked up my lemongrass sweater

not got too far with it but loving it, aran weight, and more of a brighter green than pic shows,

this is what it should look like when its finished, pic from joji's project page in the above link

absolutely love the style of this sweater and the colour too. I feel a pink one coming next!

WIP wednesday and life.

Half way through the week and I have actually managed to get some me time this week.
Things are starting to settle on the work front, have done some serious time management planning
seems to be working so far. long may it last.

This weeks chosen craft has been knitting, desperately trying to get my cardigan finished so I can then finish my sweater, thank fully the weather is still mild, lets hope I get them finished before the cold weather sets in.

Progress so far

This is very much a wrap you warm cardigan, its certainly not something I would wear in public, camping being the exception.

Its a work of love, its gone on for ever, stocking stitch is very much a TV knit, also knit in the round so no seams, just doing the bottom rib, then its the sleeves, also knit in the round, finishing up with the huge front rib edge and collar, may need to get a very long circular needle for that. Please note it has a dipped back I haven't made a mistake!

Just life.

The weeks are just rushing by, the dark nights don't help, there just seems less time to get everything done.

This week I have spent 11 hours at the wheel of my car driving to appointments for work, admittedly 2 were out of county but blimey, 11 hours, thats a shocker, just imagine what I could have done in that time?
Whilst I appreciate the benefits my job gives me weeks like this I wish I were doing something simpler!

No 1 son heard back from his job application, he didn't get offered an interview, he was gutted, they said he needed more experience ! he's picked himself back up and will carry on volunteering until something else comes up. in the interim  he's going to start his driving lessons so that he can look further afield for zoo apprenticeships.

I have done very little this week, just the usual mum/house wife jobs, managed to read a book but that's about it. I have had an ongoing headache that keeps coming and going, can't shift it at all,  not like me to pop pills but this week I have succumbed to paracetamols. Will pay a trip to the optician to get eyes checked and maybe the GP if it keeps going on. I don't think hours typing reports is helping either!

I missed the weigh in at slimming world this week, an out of county review, which meant 6 hours driving ! to be honest, I have had a bad week food wise, yet another fall off the wagon, totally frustrated with myself. I am trying to be really good until thursday weigh in with the hope of staying the same, really don't want a gain.
This weekend has been a slow one, nothing remarkable, simple things and walking the hound locally, the weather has been awful, hubs has swept the chimney so a roaring log fire is pending, and I have a stash of books on my kindle.cosy quiet nights.

This weeks goal is to stay on the food plan , read another book and sort a pattern for some sewing at the weekend. simple things keep me happy.

Cruising the Norwegian Fjords.

To celebrate reaching 60 I decided to tick off one of the bucket list holidays. I am very grateful I have a good job which pays well enough ...
