A refreshing Bank Holiday.

For once we stayed home. A bank holiday, school holiday and sunshine combination put us off venturing far. Instead we stayed home, I read books, we gardened and we had friends come over for a BBQ . It was lovely and quiet.

Yesterday we decided to hope on a local train and go to Weston Super Mare for the day. Rosiedog came too.

It was pretty busy, but we managed a nice walk and found a place to grab some lunch. It was a lovely way to end the weekend.

Sunny days and a garden chair.

What a lovely forecast to head into a bank holiday weekend with. This weekend we are staying home and pottering about in the garden. We may venture out but the combination of a bank holiday and the glorious weather means it will be chock a block everywhere.

No 1 son bought home a load of pallets from work a while back, [he was building something for his van] and there were some left over. Today the hubby built this

Its not quite finished and will need a coat of paint, but I think its fab. I love that he thought of putting a little step there for us short folk! This has been a 'dead' corner for a while and I really wanted to do something with it. Its under the olive tree so gets some lovely shade I can see us spending a lot time in this little corner of the garden. I can already see myself sat her with a good book and a beverage!

Little things make me happy.

It doesn't take a lot to make me happy and this weeks parcels certainly bought a smile to my face. Stan the Van has been in need of a blanket, for us, not Stan obviously. Knitting one would take far to long so crochet was the obvious answer. It's going to get a lot of use and needs to be easily washed and  cleaned, think mucky puppy in the van, so Style craft Aran was an obvious choice. Its also very good value for money.

I wanted some subtle colours .

I decided to go with a basic Granny stripe blanket like Attic 24's . I am considering adding a few more colours but am not sure yet, I think it may take away from my simple idea.

Then as this is going to be a big project I really needed to get a decent project bag to put it in

A fabulous Jelly Betty Basket from Sun Jellies. I only ordered this yesterday and it came to day!

I've cast/hooked  on already

and am really pleased with how its looking. I am home all weekend, no Stan the van trips out for us, so am hoping to make some good progress on it.

I cant help but smile every time I look at my bag of squish, I may need to get a couple more Betty bags.

Back again.

Life got busy so I took a blog break, sorry I switched it to private for a few weeks, but doing that means I don't worry about having to post to the blog.

Here's what I have been up to since my last post in April.

I finished my socks

I finished a pullover

I may have booked a 2 week trip to Florida with my oldest friend to celebrate my 60th next year, I have a very understanding hubby.

Our Cornish friend came to visit with Rosie's friend so we joined up with another of Rosie's friends for a lovely walk

We went to see Fisherman's Friends on stage, it was fab!

We went off for an adventure to Brighton

And then I started the ' cover up old tattoos' project. This being the first. I have a goal to start my 60's afresh! It was either new tattoos or a lot of lasering off. She did a great job, you can just see the old one under the first outline picture.  My next one is being done next week.

A Cornish Easter.

Hubs and I decided to head down to see our Cornish friend for Easter. Rosie dog came along too, after all her friend big B lives with said ...
