Pit stop.

Just a little pit stop to let you all know I'm still here.

Just back from a  couple of nights in Bude.
Took Barry Bongo for his first trip out this year.
Will do proper post tomorrow, finishing up a predominantly gadget free weekend.

Weekending.

Wow, wasn't yesterday a lovely day?clear blue skies and sunshine.

We headed out with the hound for a long circular walk, it was lovely, even managed to take off my jacket it was that warm. Halfway around you walk through the marina, so we stopped for a cheeky ice cream and sat and watched the swans, they were giving the hound the death stare !

Back home , I decided to make a little bag to hold my fluff when I am spinning, pretty pleased with it, first time making a lined bag.

Winnie the wheel has to be placed on the dresser as mad dog thinks its a chew toy!

The obligatory roast dinner was on the menu, followed by another  hound walk, then a pleasant evening spent reading and knitting.

Now that's my sort of Sunday.

Sunshine and happy days.

What a difference a little bit of sunshine makes.
Spring is definitely on the way.
Its been a  joy driving the past few work days, the benefits of not having a full time desk job is that I get to drive around and admire our beautiful city and surrounding countryside.

I have managed to go to the gym twice, quite enjoying it, everyone was friendly and you get to go at your own pace, it was nice to note I wasn't the only overweight 50+ person there! I will aim for a minimum of 3 sessions next week, and maybe a few swims as well. Mt movegb gives me 7 sessions per week.

Yesterday I went to pick up my new to me spinning wheel, shes now up and running, and I am really enjoying spinning again. The lady that repaired her for me says she was a good little buy and is made of yew! Its a bit different spinning on an old style wheel, but after about 1 hours spinning seem to be getting to grips with getting the tension right, found some old fluff I had from my failed attempt at learning to drop spindle, so currently practicing on that before I hit my blue fluff.

Not bad, when plied I think it will be a light sock weight, a little lumpy in places, need to make sure I am prepping the fluff properly, but is not looking bad for my first attempt in a long while. This morning has been a joy, spinning away , no thoughts, no stress just me and the whir of my wheel, its fluff meditation!

Now I am off out to enjoy this glorious day, a long dog walk is in order, did all my housework yesterday so today is a free day!

Still here.

I'm still here. Honest.
February seems to have been a simple living sort of life.
Awful weather, grey days, snug nights in.
We have met with friends, spent time as a family
and each done our own thing,

no 1 has started reading again [ silently pleased hes finding joy in books instead of electrical gadgets]
no 2 continues to paint his miniature warhammer figures
hubs is on the 'convert' the van plan for the anticipated camping season
Me? I seem to have found my fibre mojo, knitting, crocheting and soon to be spinning.
Cant get enough or have enough projects.

The little wheel has needed to have some TLC, she's been sent away for a spa break!
'Winnie', no idea where that name came from, but that's whats shes now called, is due back on Saturday.. cant wait.. feels ages since I have spun.
Treated myself to some cheapish fibre

Thought about it, no rash purchases this time round, think about the end product and what I am going to do with it, planning on a 2 tone shawl, sea colours, ripple effect.

quite excited for the coming weekend, spinning is on the agenda.

In other news our first camping trip is planned for Easter, currently watching the long range forecast!
It will give us a chance to test out the new seating plan in the van and new sleeping arrangements!
So glad we purchased a heater I have a feeling its going to be a chilly one!

Cruising the Norwegian Fjords.

To celebrate reaching 60 I decided to tick off one of the bucket list holidays. I am very grateful I have a good job which pays well enough ...
