WIP Wednesday.

I am in a season of castonitis...
I just cant help myself. I have far too many WIPS to count, but there's always something else that needs casting on...

This week it was ' I need a holiday project', none of my curent WIPs would do. It had to be simple and easy to pick up and put down, and nothing that needed a brain cell.... I also wanted to use this

Fyberspates Vivacious in the Lundy Island colourway.

I'll tell you a story about this yarn.
One of my favourite places is Lundy Island, I saw this yarn a few years back, bought it and knit a lovely sweater from it, sadly I shrunk the damn thing in the washing machine by accident. Never one to be put off I bought more of the yarn, and there it's sat, forlornly waiting to be knit.We were booked to go to Lundy again this year but Covid put paid to that and its now been delayed until next year. Which means I have a whole year to knit a new Lundy sweater.!

So I pulled it out and looked for a pattern.
I've had my eye on a boxy for a while,

I wasn't sure if it was for me as a larger lady, but I love the sweater so what the heck, I cast it on.

Love it so far, rounds and rounds of stocking stitch...Bliss, I am one of those sad people that just loves stocking stitch in the round, only 390 stitches on the needle.
I am doing the seamless sweater but if the thought of knitting that in the round scares you there is a seamed version so you can knit the front and back seperately.

I may  also have bought a new project bag for it .....

Another week done.

Another week done.

Sitting here in my home office time just slips by. My job seems a whole lot busier now commuting to meetings and hospitals has been removed, back to back meetings now seem to be the norm. I'm trying to be strict with work hours as it would be easy to keep doing extra to keep up.

Other than work I've not done much else this week as the heats been a killer for me.

I've walked the hound locally

Made the boys a big fat gooey chocolate cake, very proud of my self for not having a slice

picked fresh tomatoes daily for my lunch

And treated myself to a lovely bunch of Flowers on Friday.

I returned to my Slimming world group this week, that was a strange experience, limited numbers and all wearing masks. I joined during the pandemic as NHS workers could sign up for free. Classes were over zoom and I actually enjoyed the chit chat. I was very undecided about going back into a real class, I have a love hate relationship with slimming world, but I did manage to lose a stone in weight so have decided to carry on. It's not free now but I'm going to give it a good crack to shed a few more stone. Maybe this time  my willpower will stay with me.

That sneaky Cornish escape and another in the planning.

I'm really not sure where time goes.
How was it 3 weeks ago since my last blogpost ?

My mini solo trip to Cornwall to see my friend was lovely , despite the sun going into hiding for the duration, It did reappear when I had to go back to work, typical.

The train ride down was uneventful and very socially distanced, only 3-4 other people spaced out in my carriage, all with masks on. The ticket person didn't come round neither did the refreshment trolley so it was a very quiet trip.

We  had a lovely weekend of walking, chatting and eating, despite the sun going into hiding we did generally dodge the rain.

We did pop into Truro but I really don't like shopping at the moment so left there quick sharp and back to the coast...

I did do a sneaky flying visit into Falmouth just to visit Stitches & Cream  and might have had to add to my stash...

Its a great little shop, full of fabric, yarns and bits & bobs, my friend and I were the only 2 in there so it felt really comfortable and safe, masks on of course. If you're down that way and a crafter it is definitely worth a visit.

This little duo has already been cast on in preparation for the forthcoming Cornish week at the month end, (always have to have a new holiday cast on) Hubs and I are celebrating 21 years of marriage and as all other travel plans have been curtailed, we were lucky enough to manage to book 5 nights away in North Cornwall and another 2 nights to stay with our with our friend.  Boys will be staying home house sitting and looking after Frank...

Who as you can see really does like his home comforts !

Cruising the Norwegian Fjords.

To celebrate reaching 60 I decided to tick off one of the bucket list holidays. I am very grateful I have a good job which pays well enough ...
