Flat pack yarn !

Yep, you heard right, Flat pack yarn

Blooming marvellous idea..
Found a new online yarn store to try out, Woolstack. Great service, will definitely use again.

Had to pop it out of the pack to squish it obviously

How lovely are those colours?
It's west yorkshire spinners signature 4 ply, it's called 'seascape' and is a colourway designed by Winwick mum

I obviously needed more sock yarn in my collection!
I may have also added to my project bag collection

This little beauty is from Primark and is actually a wash bag. It cost the grand total of £4.

I fell in love with the colours and its like a soft squishy plastic, ideal for a travel project bag, it's even got a little palm tree on the zip.Mind you given the current temperatures in Orlando dont think I will be knitting wool socks much !

WIP Wednesday.

Not really been knitting much lately, much preferring to slip away into a  good book. I really need to crack on with the last sleeve of my Cornwallis sweater, I may manage to get down to Cornwall by the end of the summer!

The only thing I have really knit on is my Oceania shawl, it's gorgeous and am now waiting on next months skein so I can get going again. This is a really lovely knit and quite an easy pattern to pick up.

Spinning however is continuing at a pace, currently spinning up a mermaid

I bought 2 of each of these from Spin Jones and have started on the mermaid. I know they are similar but I just love these colours!

think I am going to try and fractal spin these 2. Currently loving the fluffy bits, which is the flax, its mixed with Tussah Silk and merino, very squishy. Not sure what I am going to do with it when its all spun up though!

What I'm reading.

I've updated my book-list and am not doing so bad so far this year. A good mix of  books  that I have enjoyed.

This week though I really wanted something soothing, a good old chic lit book. I'm missing the sea especially the Cornish coast, we've not visited since February and I definitely feel it. So what better way to mix the 2 than this

Cant wait to crack into this when I step on the bus this morning. Pure escapism.
Bliss.

Cruising the Norwegian Fjords.

To celebrate reaching 60 I decided to tick off one of the bucket list holidays. I am very grateful I have a good job which pays well enough ...
