A Cornish Easter.

Hubs and I decided to head down to see our Cornish friend for Easter. Rosie dog came along too, after all her friend big B lives with said Cornish friend.

We decided to head down on Thursday to avoid the bank holiday madness, it was an easy drive interspersed by the whole spectrum of weather, including snow! As Rosie had been in the car for almost 4 hrs we agreed to meet our friend at her local beach so the dogs could have a run. look at the blue sky!

Saturday saw us head out to Gunwalloe, Porthleven and the donkey sanctuary. this lovely chap is called Silver and was adopted for me by our Cornish friend. We even managed to dodge the showers all day!

On Saturday we headed out to see the seals at Godrevy but despite an early start there was no room at the nearby car park and due to the wet ground they had not opened the over-spill car park so we ended up driving down in to Hayle and spending a couple of hours on the beach, again luckily dodging the showers.

Sunday was a later start and a slower day, we decided to stay reasonably local as Cornwall in school holidays is generally rammed with people and any of the main places would be full. We headed out to the
Rosveal estate and walked around the gardens and down onto the beach.

We were lucky with shower dodging again and managed to make it back cold but dry.

Monday came and it was time to head back home, stupidly we thought if we started early enough we could miss the bank holiday motorway madness, but sadly no. What should have been a 3.5 hour drive ended up being 6! We were exhausted by the time we got home. But it was a lovely Easter spent with our friend. I've now got a couple of days off before I start work again to rest a litle more and plan the next trip away!

  2. Such lovely beach walks, the dogs look like they loved it too. Sorry you had such a long journey home. When we've travelled to Hampshire from Lincolnshire, it seemed to take forever. The boys have grown and don't travel with us anymore. Now we stop over in Oxford to break the journey. I wish we'd done that years ago, especially as we struggled to put up a trailer tent or caravan and awning, tired at the end of a long journey.

To celebrate reaching 60 I decided to tick off one of the bucket list holidays. I am very grateful I have a good job which pays well enough ...
