A weekend at Heligan, Cornwall.

Sorry for another trip post but I'm still catching up.

A week after we got back from Whitby & Scarborough we headed down to Cornwall for a weekend. I have been wanting to go to the Lost gardens of Heligan for a while and hubby found a campsite right next door.

The site was perfect and had a path right down to Mevagissey and was a walk across the lane into the gardens. Ideally situated.

Our first evening we just relaxed and explored the site with Rosie dog. As the weather was due to be good on the Saturday we decided to walk down into Mevagissey.

We walked out along the pier and decided to jump on a boat for a quick coast ride, giving Rosie her first ever boat trip !

As usual she was really good and seemed to enjoy it. Off of the boat we had fish and chips, and Rosie had a sausage!

Mindful of her little legs and the long uphill climb back to site we hopped onto a bus.

Sunday, we set off to see the gardens. I was not disappointed.

You could walk all day and not see all of the gardens. I thought it was fabulous and would definitley go back. There was a lovely farm shop there as well, so we bought some lovely goodies to take home for our dinner.
And just like that another weekend was over. A weekend well spent and worth working all week for!

  1. Did you see the most poignant part - in the little gardeners' room, where all the young men had signed their names before having to go to war. And they never returned. Heligan was re-discovered many years later when Mother Nature had completely taken over all their hard work. As you say, though, Iit is a beautiful and wonderful place now.

  2. Another fabulous weekend away. We used to buy a sausage for our last dog Annie when we bought fish and chips to eat in the car. I'm sure Rosie is really enjoying herself on her trips.

Cruising the Norwegian Fjords.

To celebrate reaching 60 I decided to tick off one of the bucket list holidays. I am very grateful I have a good job which pays well enough ...
